STARBUCKS doesn't only sell you coffee, it sells you real estate!

STARBUCKS is the best :)

Unlike some people I know, I can very much survive a day without coffee. No matter how demanding the work day is, I will never rely on that caffeine-laden to make me function. I’m no coffee hater! I just prefer it served in a particular way, and in a particular place.

I may not be a coffee addict but I certainly am a Starbucks-goer. Starbucks Coffee House is more like a hub for non-serious coffee drinkers like me, because what they serve are more of hot and cold desserts-in-a-cup, as I’d like to call them. Who could ever resist a grande, Java Chip Frappuccino (P150)? Smooth and frothy coffee dotted with bits of chocolate, topped with the frap staple, whipped cream and fudge syrup. And sometimes, my ever changing mood for food will tell me to go for java alternatives such as teas and citrus fruit blends. A must-try would be the Pomegranate Peach Frappuccino (P130). It’s a refreshingly tangy beverage (like melted fruit sorbet) packed with nutrients.

Aside from their beverage list, and of course their delectable dessert menu (which is also one of the main reasons why I can’t forgo a Starbucks visit), I truly enjoy its ambiance. I’ll never forget my best friend (half-American, half-Filipino)  telling me, “Starbucks doesn’t only sell you coffee, it sells you real estate.” True enough, the warm and cozy space that Starbucks offers has served as a venue for my group study sessions, business meetings, and even some precious alone time. I can stay for hours and hours with just a good book or a laptop, as if it was an extension of my living room. And with the very friendly baristas around, I never feel like a stranger. I’m not rejecting the possibility of becoming a full-fledged coffee convert here… I can have strong coffee, but just put it beside a slice of chocolate cake.posted by: kimberly/kisses

My Blood Type is COFFEE :)

I LOVE COFFEE
I'm sure many will have to agree with me, for the reason they love coffee. Now, you will love it more.

The heavenly aroma of coffee keeps our senses awake especially when we are working on something important either at home or at work. The moment we start to drink it and gets into our system, the power of coffee suddenly restores our energy even if weve been working for long hours already. No wonder why people can manage as much as 10 cups of coffee a day. As for me, I’m good with just up to 2 cups a day .(Yeah, I'm kinda addicted to it.)

Now has anyone of you here bothered to look into the health benefits of drinking coffee? Of course, it would be a bonus for all of us to realize that aside from the heavenly taste that coffee has to offer us, there are after all health benefits that we can avail, convincing us to patronize coffee even some more.

If consumed in moderation, with 2 cups the most a day, is a good source of antioxidant. Have you noticed sometimes when you have a headache, you just drink coffee and your headache will vanish? First of all, the reason why you had that headache is because the oxygen supplied in your brain is not sufficient, and coffee is the answer.

Drinking Coffee can prevent various diseases and illnesses such as Parkinson’s disease, skin cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, liver-related sickness, etc. Meanwhile, with coffee as a good antioxidant, studies show that it can prevent certain types of cancer because of the presence of an anti-cancer compound called methylpyridinium. This compound is only formed when a coffee is roasted. Methylpyridinium is also present in instant coffee, caffeinated, and even the decaffeinated ones.

It is safe to say that coffee is one of the most consumed beverages today and the popularity of it continues to grow. Now that you know that there are after all good benefits of drinking coffee, you need not worry anymore every time you drink that favorite coffee of yours.

My blood type is coffee.

Have a Break!

Coffee is a brewed drink prepared from roasted seed called coffee beans from the coffee plant. Coffee has played a crucial role in many societies. The energizing effect of the coffee bean plant is thought to have been discovered in the northeast region of Ethiopia, and the cultivation of coffee first expanded in the Arab world. Coffee berries, which contain the coffee seed, or "bean", are produced by several species of small evergreen bush of the genus Coffea. The two most commonly grown are the highly regarded Coffea Arabica, and the 'robusta' form of the hardier Coffea Canephora.

Now, I don't want to bore you with all this information but instead I want to inform you about the exciting world of coffee, how it is made, the presentations and of course all the coffee shops (from the known one to the not so unknown but has a lot of great coffee) here in Cebu.

This is just a hint of what our blog site is all about, so that's it for me. I'll talk more about coffee till next time..
